Marshall & Debra Yazzie ~ January 2006 Prayer Letter

Hello everyone!

We had a good holiday season...it sure went by fast!

We have been doing well here at the "Chapel". Our numbers have gone down since the summer of 2005. But it is good to see the faithful few who still attend the services. Our children's class has had its downsizing as well. It seems that they stay up late Saturday evening and sleep in Sunday Am. One of our SS children’s’ grandma went home to be with Jesus, so Debbie and I went to the funeral. The children have grown taller. We attended just to let them know we still do care for them. Pray for Anthony, Matthew and Angel.

I received a call from a foster mother concerning one of the children she cares for. His name is Zachary. She takes him to see a counselor (some issues he has concerning his behavior at home, school.) "Zach" told the counselor that he likes to spend his time at our place and church services. Boy!! Sometimes the Lord lets us know that there are some who are blessed to have the chapel here. "Zach" has a sister,"Nicolette". She is just a tiny little girl. Pray for these children that they may continue to come to services but also for the foster mother, who does admit that she should be coming to church but she is too busy.

The Bible Institute Class is still being held here (which has been very helpful.) Although it does get tough at times to attend the class. "There are many people who are praying for us, people across America" this is what I tell the congregation. There many who send a love offering each month, one sends her tithe to the chapel because the church she attended quit. When taking account of all of these
blessings, this is a good reminder of God continuing to encourage us.

But I also tell the congregation that there have been many who have prayed) some have gone home to be with the Lord) and are still praying, and many that the Lord sent to teach and train through the years....why? so that one day Baptist Indian Chapel would have an Indian Pastor.

It was a surprise to me that one evening while at the hospital here in Sacaton. Debbie and I were speaking to a lady that we know thru the years. (But she lives on another reservation.) She tells us that she and her family wanted to come to attend one of our services but she was told that I had quit the pastorate and left with my family. Well I haven't quit...

These are the one's that come to our services... Lela Jackson, Eleanor Villa, Titus and Jane Case and kids, Bradley, Wesley, Eric and Tanya Kristen Tsosie(from Chandler), Ward Brandenstien, Michelle Encinas and kids, Lanie and Florine Enos, Betty and Rikki(pray for Oscar).of course Yazzie 7.

We traveled, as a church, down to Vamori to attend the Revival Service with Glen Jaspers and his wife Mary. It was good to be together!

We plan to attend the Herbsters Trio at IBC in Chandler. February 5-9. Maybe some others can go.

"So anyways" I must go...thank you for your prayers.
