Steve & Sherry DeFord ~ July 2008 Prayer Letter

Dear Friends,

Psalm 26:7 That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.

Greetings from Canada for the last time. Our  moving truck is scheduled to leave our home July 23. The Lord has been very good to us during the last six years here. To be sure, we have mixed emotions about leaving. Being back in Arizona will be a blessing, but we will greatly miss the Stoney and our dear friends here. In the last month we have renewed a friendship with an elderly Stoney woman named Tina we first met over five years ago. We have had three Bible studies in her home recently which have been an encouragement to all of us. Valerie Rider has also been faithful with the Bible study in her home too, usually having two or three of her nieces with her. As of July, the summerpow-wow season begins. Often at this time of year it becomes very difficult to find anyone at home. We pray we will have good attendance right up to the time we leave.

In our family news, Jackie has been accepted at Ambassador Baptist College in North Carolina. We plan to leave early from our annual IBIMI mission retreat in August to drive cross-country in order to have her there for the start of school.

Drew is finishing up basic training with the US Navy. Steve and Sherry are flying to Chicago over the fourth of July to see him graduate. We hope that the timing works out for him to join us in Georgia over Christmas.

Please pray with us that the house sells quickly. It has been on the market now for several weeks. If it does not sell, we will first have to move into a rental home, causing us to have to move twice. The expense of the move as well as the expense of rental during the lean summer months could be very difficult financially.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support of us and the work among the North American Indians.
