Dear Prayer Partners,
Psalm 145:10 All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee.
Thank you for your continued prayer and financial support. We are very thankful the Lord has answered our prayers regarding our future ministry. I want to take a moment to get you up to date. There were three works that had asked us to consider ministering among them. One was in Montana and there were two in Arizona. Steve had sought counsel from five Godly men in whom he has great confidence. All five of the men from whom Steve sought counsel believed that Peach Springs was the best place for our family to continue ministry. Steve has since accepted the call from the Hualapai Bible Church in Peach Springs, AZ. This small reservation (about 2000) is on the south rim of the Grand Canyon west of Grand Canyon Nat'l Park.
We first learned of this church and their need of a pastor back in December while we were in Arizona for Christmas. On our way home we stopped through to visit on a Sunday morning. Steve flew back and spent a long weekend in Peach Springs over Palm Sunday. The Wednesday following, the church called and said they had voted unanimously to extend a call to us. After getting this counsel and the vote of the church, we are confident this is where the Lord would have us.
The next prayer requests have to do with housing and moving. Housing is scarce in Northwest Arizona. However, we do have a few options. There are some homes on the market though most are too small for our size family. We could also build because the Lord has provided temporary housing in Las Vegas (about one and a half hours from Peach Springs). In the end we know God will guide us to just the right place at the right time.
We will also need assistance with moving back to the States. It is our desire to have our home here in Canada sold and make the move in June. We are praying the Lord will provide a large truck to get us back across the border.
In the more immediate future, Sherry will finish up school with the kids next month. Drew will graduate from high school May 2 and ship out for Navy boot camp May 7. We are praying he will find a good church to attend while training for his submarine duties over the coming months. Jackie returns home in mid-May to help us with the move and to prepare for her first semester of college. The other children are just looking forward to nearly four months off school.
While we are still disappointed about leaving Canada we continue to see how God is in all of the changes. The ministry on the Morley reserve has continued to be slow. Since Lorraine passed away, our Bible studies have become less frequent. The Christians here need someone they know is going to stay with them and help them establish a church. Please pray with us that the Lord will send labourers into this harvest. There is still much to be done here.
Steve just met a woman in the ladies' shelter who desires to have a Bible study along with her adult son. So there is still interest, we just need God's man who can love these folks and lead them on to maturity.
Thank you again for your prayers and support of this ministry over the past couple of months
and for the new requests we have mentioned here.
Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider how great things He
hath done for you. I Samuel 12:24
