Dear Ones in Him,

We trust you are enjoying the blessings of the Lord in your daily walk with Him. Last month, we mentioned that nine-year old Berto had accepted the Lord. We've seen a change in Berto's behavior, and he has been witnessing to his sister, six-year old Marina. Recently, in the van on the way home from church, she had many questions about being saved. Bev had the joy of sharing the way of salvation from God's Word with her, and Mirina prayed and asked Jesus to be her Savior.

Once again, we are reminded of the critical importance of reaching these little ones while they are young, as we just learned of the death of nineteen-year old Orlando, due to suicide. He leaves behind a fifteen-year old girlfriend and three-month old baby.

A few months back, Gary did some handyman work for a neighbor, Scotty, who is dying of cancer. At the time, Scotty mentioned that he had a ski/fishing boat he could no longer use and mentioned donating it to our church. Sometime later, Gary went back to talk with Scotty about his spiritual condition. He gave testimony that he had trusted Christ, and again brought up the subject of donating the boat, so Gary pulled it to our house and a couple of the men from church helped Gary clean and wax it. Please pray that it will soon sell. When sold, the funds will be set aside for a future building fund.

In Junior Church, Bev was telling the children about Zacchaeus , the tax collector. Later, she asked what Zacchaeus' job was, Miklo raised his hand and said, “He collected nails.” After thinking for a bit, Bev realized Miklo was thinking that Zacchaeus gathered “tacks.!” There was definitely a need for more explanation!

Family matters have been much on our hearts as Bev's sister-in-law, Marilyn Wright of Anderson, IN. went through triple by-pass surgery in Sept. We are so thankful God has met her every need, and her recovery is going well.

On Sept. 18th, Bev's brother-in-law, Gerald Collier of Greenfield, IN. went home to be with the Lord. He faithfully served his Savior for many years, was a dear brother, and will be greatly missed. We drove a quick trip back to attend the service, leaving on Friday morning and arriving back home the following Thursday night. We were able to stop by Lakin, KS. for a one day visit with our kids, JD and Jenny and the four grandchildren. How we thank the Lord for safety over the 3400 miles.

We want to thank you again for your prayers in our behalf, and your faithful support. May the Lord richly reward and bless you for it.

Sincerely in Christ,

Gary & Beverly Messick
