Gary & Beverly Messick ~ May Prayer Letter

Dear Ones in Him,

Our loving heavenly Father is answering your faithful prayers concerning church attendance. We continue to see new folk coming, as well as others who have returned after missing services for some time. We have two ladies awaiting baptism. Hopefully we can work out arrangements soon with a local church that generously allows us use of their baptistry.

You may recall that a few years ago we had asked you pray for the salvation of Brian, and that later Gary had the joy of leading him to Christ. Though Brian struggled with an alcohol problem, we did see spiritual growth in his life. On April 8, Brian was killed by a hit-and -run driver. Many in his family are alcoholics including his mother. Several years earlier, Gary had preached at the funeral of Brian's brother who had died due to years of alcohol abuse. At each service the gospel was clearly presented. Two days after Brian's burial, his stepfather died from an aneurysm. Though he gave no indication of making a decision to accept Christ, we are thankful that he had one last opportunity to hear the way of salvation.

Last month, Becky DeFord, our daughter-in-law, Elida, and four of our church ladies attended the Bill Rice Ranch West Branch ladies conference at Flagstaff with Bev. It was a very special day; great messages and wonderful fellowship. As did our men after their conference, the ladies came back and gave testimony in our morning service as to the blessing they had received. All agreed they are looking forward to the next one.

Please continue to pray for the salvation of Anna, Lindsay, Nisi, and Kito.

Once again we come to you with grateful hearts for your faithful prayer support, and ask the Lord to bless you richly.

In Christ,

Gary & Beverly Messick
