A Little News From Lydia Veldhuis
Dear Family and Friends,
I just wanted to give all of you a quick update on what I've been doing over the past year. As most of you know, I left West Coast Baptist College after one year because of health problems and transferred to International Baptist College near Phoenix. I finished my second year of college there and greatly enjoyed the new friendships I made and the caring staff members.
I came home for the summer and was immediately immersed in summer ministry! I helped my dad as a sponsor for a week of Jr. camp and monitored at all four pre camp sleep overs! The week of V.B.S. was also very challenging as I was asked to teach 3 to 12 year olds the Bible story! This was my first experience telling a Bible story to such a varied group. Praise the Lord for giving me the ability to do it!
As most of you know, I have been struggling with severe asthma for over two years. I had hoped for improved health after leaving California. Unfortunately, this was not the case and my asthma continued to worsen last year. I had bronchitis several times and have recently seen a pulmonologist. He found that my lung capacity was only 45% for both lungs when it should have been at least 80%. So far, he has not found a cause or effective treatment for this. Please pray that God will give me strength to do what needs to be done and for healing! Please pray for a job as well. I need to work to help pay my school bill.
