Dear Friends in Christ,
The Navajo Family Bible Conference held here in Flagstaff at the beginning of the month, was a good time. Sam was teaching the evening classes for the English-speaking adults and once again we were using a tent to meet in. On Wed. night we had a hard rain that made it very difficult to hear - so had to pause until the rain let up. We still had a good class, but started to specifically pray for no rain interference and the Lord granted it to us. We saw a good response to the challenges presented in our study of “Stewardship & Accountability”. Praise God for this opportunity.
We also had a Retreat for our IBIMI missionaries here in Flagstaff. As always, it was a good time of encouragement as we shared victories and challenges from the past year. Now we know better how to pray for each other. At present, we have 3 of our missionary daughters in Bible College. Pray for Jackie, Emily and Lydia. We need the next generation to see the need and prepare to carry on the work until the Lord returns.
Last month we shared that we have no flood insurance for our home. Our insurance agent, another Believer, said she would pray that God would provide the finances for this as she felt it was something we should really get. God answered her prayer and a gift was given for that specific need. Now we’re praying it will never be needed! Please continue to pray for the flash flood threat to our community. The monsoon season for the year usually lasts over Labor Day. They are predicting this will persist for 3-5 years until new growth appears on the Mts. and not only the monsoon seasons, but the spring run-off from winter snow, will present a danger. They have dug a large diversion canal beside our house to direct the water flow away from homes and it seems to be working.
The end of August and into the first of September, Sam will be making a trip to Alaska to check on our property where we hope to be able to get a Christian radio station going. The first phase is to get the groundwork and foundation done. He will be talking with some men regarding getting this started. We had hoped to have $10,000 for this first phase and presently have around $2,000. Pray with us to know God’s plan and timing in this project.
There is a Navajo church in Page (130 miles from Flagstaff) that needs some help and we are praying for God’s direction regarding our involvement.
It has been a busy and full month and we appreciate your prayers and continued support. Thank you!
Thank you all for your prayers and support.
In Christ,
Sam & Janet Grammer
