Dear Friends in Christ,
On February 26, we received a call that Janet’s Mom had died. She had lived in a nursing home for several years with Parkinsons Disease and we’re thankful her suffering is over. One brother asked, “Do you think Mom has found Dad yet?” The response was, “No, I think she’s still standing in awe, looking on the face of Almighty God! Maybe Dad is still standing there in awe and neither one even sees the other because of seeing our Creator!” Just the thought of being in Heaven in His presence thrills the soul and comforts the heart. Janet was able to fly back to New York to be with her family during this time. Thank you to those who sent cards, called, and even helped with the travel expenses.
The calendar says that spring is officially here and the bulbs popping through the ground give evidence. The spring winds are also starting. The wind in Tuba City had the red desert sand blowing so bad this past week-end, that we questioned whether to spend the night in Tuba. Visibility was very poor. But then the rain started and the sand settled. As we ascended the 2,000+ feet in elevation to Flagstaff, the rain turned to snow. It was in the 60’s last week but we’re starting up the woodstove again this morning- typical spring weather for our mountains.
The traveling may get a bit interesting at times, but it’s worth it when someone responds to the Word of God. Recently, a young lady that works at the hospital in Tuba City, was invited to church by one of our folk. For the first time in her life, she came to church and heard the Gospel message. How exciting to see God work in her heart and bring her to Himself! And what a blessing to see Believers witnessing in their community and winning others to Christ!
