Sam & Janet Grammer ~ March 2010 Prayer Letter

March 2010
Dear Friends in Christ,

A recent headline in our local paper stated that we have only one major city in the US that surpasses our snowfall this year to date. We have had 118” on snow already with more predicted this week-end and snow can fall into mid-May. We are not complaining much, as this is our main water source, living in “high-mountain desert”. However, on one occasion, when the Highway from Phoenix to Flagstaff was closed down due to the road conditions, Sam had to spend the night with one of our missionaries in Camp Verde until the road was opened the next day. Enjoyed the visit and thankful for God’s provision.

We were thrilled to help the First Baptist Church of Tuba City welcome a full-time pastor this past month; Pastor Brandon Ewer and his wife and son. For several years now, they have been looking for a pastor and this past year have had several special speakers and candidates. One day, after finishing Bible School, the Ewers showed up in Tuba and went to the Chapter House and asked how to obtain use of land for starting a Baptist Church. They were told about First Baptist, and after meeting the people and speaking a few times and praying, they were asked to become the pastor. It’s comforting to see God working and bringing the answer to their prayers to their door. Please continue to pray as they make the adjustments to a new pastor and as the Ewers begin ministering.

Because of the weather, not many folks are not traveling unless necessary. That means that we’ve had more phone calls than drop-in visitors. We don’t keep record of each contact, but try to be ready to help and serve whenever the Lord opens the door. The Lord has kept the phone lines and electric going, in spite of the storms and we’ve had various calls over family problems and dealing with elderly parents facing the end of life. Pray that we direct them to Scripture that will help them face life’s challenges and not use personal opinions.

Prayer Requests:

  • Nathan Carmichael- surgery for his knee is scheduled for March 10. The Drs. are very pleased with his progress
  • Wolf & Lily Bilagody -as Wolf starts Bible School here in Flagstaff Lily works in Tuba City during the week
and Wolf travels home each Thurs evening for the week-ends.
  • Pastor Ewer-as he begins his ministry in Tuba City
  • Pray for continued good health for us as flu and colds are abundant this season

    In Christ,

    Sam & Janet Grammer
