Dear Friends in Christ,
God tells us to “give thanks”, “rejoice”, and “be glad”. Once we focus on what we have to be thankful for, it’s not a difficult command to obey! We have so much to be thankful for, but often get occupied with daily life and forget to look beyond the struggles. Though it’s good to thank others, we need to continually thank God, who is our provider and our strength in life. We’re so glad that our country still sets a day aside to remind us to be thankful.
We had our annual Thanksgiving Dinner at the church for the folks in the community. There was a good turn-out and it was a blessing to be able to feed them spiritual food as well as “table” food. It was also a joy to watch our people working together in the kitchen and cleaning up after.
Now we are working on preparing for our Christmas activities. Each Sunday, the children are rehearsing their songs and script for the Christmas Program. We are trying to remind them of why Christmas is celebrated, create good memories for them, and encourage them, that they can be a part of sharing the Gospel message with others that will come to see the program.
Our ministry in Page began in November of last year. Since we had just started there, we didn’t feel we could leave so soon and spend time with the family over the holidays. It’s been almost 2 years since we have seen most of them and this year, we are planning to spend 10 days in NC with some of our daughters and their families, the week before Christmas. Please pray for safety as we travel.
Many of you share family newsletters at this time of the year, giving an up-date from your home. We don’t always write back, but we do enjoy them, so please keep us on your annual mailing list.
From our family: At present, we have 14 grandchildren (2 are already with our Lord) and #15 due to join us in June! We were excited to hear that the youngest 2 grandchildren both made professions of faith in Christ this past year; one while talking with his Mom as they were driving down the road and the other in their summer VBS program. Bela (6 yrs old) was baptized Nov 20, to make a public declaration of her trusting Christ!
Each of the grandchildren has said that they are now Believers and our prayer is that they will use the life God gave them, to serve Him and bring Him glory. This past summer, 6 of them were involved in summer ministry teams in foreign countries and we have 3 in Bible College right now: please pray for Hannah at BBC in Clarks Summit, PA, Tabitha at Davis College in NY and Nathan at Northland University in WI. We are praying for God’s direction in their lives, that they would know just where God wants to put them in His service.
In Christ,
Sam & Janet Grammer
