Sam & Janet Grammer ~ December 2009 Update

Dear Friends in Christ,

I had hoped to get this letter out to you last week. However, we were traveling and our laptop wasn’t up to the task. I guess it’s time to start saving up for a laptop that is more capable and reliable.

Each year, during the holiday season, we like to spend a few days with some of our kids and grandkids. This year, we were once again in North Carolina and able to see 3 of our daughters and their husbands and 8 grandkids! We had 3 days together and everyone seemed to be having a great time together and filled with thankful hearts.

The following Monday, Christine got a phone call that Nathan had been injured on the job and was on the way to the hospital. A tree they were taking down twisted in his direction and hit him on the right shoulder. He was hit hard with several broken bones (collarbone, shoulder blade-front and back, multiple ribs, 3 cracked vertebrae and chipped another, broken pelvis). The Dr. said it was a bad hit but nothing from which he won’t recover. He is in severe pain and facing several months of healing, but we are so very thankful it wasn’t worse. The need for surgery on his shoulder is unsure and they need prayer for wisdom.

We are so thankful for many things over these past few days. Not only are we thankful that Nathan has been left with us for a while longer, we are thankful we were there to help Chris and the kids through the initial scare. We are also thankful for so many friends that are stepping up to help in so many practical ways and encouraging them. We are thankful for the prayers and for Christian family.

Our support has always been in need of increasing. We have been inquiring for possible future supporting churches; for both financial and prayer support. The holiday season is difficult to include special missionary presentations, but we were able to make some contacts for possible future meetings and trusting the Lord to supply our needs.

Earlier this month, we were able to be in Tuba City (Navajo Reservation) and also Peach Springs (Hualapai Reservation) to preach and teach. December should also be pretty busy. Please pray for safety as we travel during the winter season.

Prayer Requests:

  1. Nathan Carmichael-for full and complete healing
  2. Cindy B-a Navajo Believer who recently had gall bladder surgery -now dealing with liver and kidney failure and waiting for a kidney donor
  3. Our finances
  4. Winter Travel

In Christ,
