Sam & Janet Grammer ~ November 2011 Update

November 2011
Dear Friends in Christ,

As many of you understand, fall is hunting season!  This year’s hunting camp is now history.  There were a total of 7 hunters- with 3 elk and 1 bear taken.  Some were hunting for a trophy and passed up shots early in the season and went home without meat, but everyone had a great time.  These camps are actually men’s retreats as they spend time in Bible study each night around the campfire.  This year’s study was on the book of Jonah.

Sam had planned to spend a few more days and hunt with Sam Jr., but came home early with a bad cold, fever and aches.  You know he was sick if he missed out on a father/son hunt!  A couple of days in bed and lots of TLC and he seems to be on the road to recovery.

Again, one of our missionary kids, Zachary Pike, came to help with the work of setting up and taking down camp.  Zach’s parents work in S Dakota among the Sioux Indians.  Only 16, Zach is a hard worker and pitched in with the work of cleaning and storing camping gear, feeding the horses and splitting firewood for this coming winter for us…  Lots of hard work and no complaining!  We are so thankful for his help.

Our ladies will be heading for a ladies’ retreat this coming week-end in Flagstaff.  They won’t be sleeping in tents though!  They’ve opted out for a nice hotel room with their fellowship.  We have several gals joining us this year and looking forward to some great time together in God’s Word with the theme “Grace Abounding”.

Fall also leads us into the holiday season.  Please pray with us as we have an annual Thanksgiving dinner at the church that is open to the community.  We see many visitors that don’t normally attend services, so pray that God will work in hearts as the wonderful news of salvation is given.

Thank you to each of you for your prayers and gifts to help us continue to serve the Lord.  We realize that the economy makes it difficult for many of you and appreciate those who are still standing behind us financially.  God does supply what is needed.  Thanks for letting Him use you.

In Christ,
Sam & Janet Grammer
