Dear Friends in Christ,
This past month we were able to be with the folks at the Yavapai-Apache Baptist Church in Camp Verde for a couple of week-ends, filling in for one of our missionaries who was away. We enjoyed the time with these folks in God’s Word. The Church is growing; not only in size, but in spiritual understanding. They are meeting in the Tribe’s Community Center at present, but looking into possibilities for their own building. Please pray for wisdom for them and that the Lord will open doors.
One night, just as we were heading for bed, a call came asking us to preach in Tuba City the next day as their scheduled speaker was sick. The Lord is filling our schedule as He sees fit and we want to always be ready to serve. We are reminded of that over and over. After working with the folks for several years, they know where we live and we have more and more stop by to visit and ask for counseling or in need of encouragement.
Two Ladies’ Bible Studies began during the month of September. Janet teaches one in our home and teaches the pre-schoolers for a second Bible Study while their Moms are studying with another teacher. We take a break during the summer months but start up again once the kids were back to school and the Moms were able to get away to study.
The month of October will be the beginning of our hunt camps. Please pray for safety and for the Lord to work on hearts as we study the book of I Thessalonians together around the campfires.
Sam’s Mom turns 90 in October so we are planning on traveling back to celebrate this special day with a reunion of his family. We have scheduled some meetings while we are in MD and looking forward to seeing some of you at that time.
Prayer Requests:
- Toahonnie (“toe-ha-knee”) Janet’s piano student-10 years old?
Please continue to pray that her finger tip will heal and re-attach itself without complications. Her Mom says she’s making good progress and hopes to get back to piano soon. - Tabitha Taylor- our granddaughter (Angela’s daughter)-15 yrs old (turning 16 -9/27)
Tabi has had a very difficult month with several hospital visits due to her malaria. She had 2 units of blood which helped and they have been able to find the medication that she needs through the CDC. This will be a life-long condition. She needs our prayers as she has to adjust her life to deal with it. Thank you to those who took part in her card shower. She received a stack of cards over 12” high. - Matt Adson–Matt is no longer struggling with brain cancer. On Sept 12, Matt went home to be with the Lord. Pray for his wife Cindy and his parents Lula & George, as well as the rest of his family.
Thanks to each of you who have helped us this past month with your gifts and especially for praying for us.
In Christ,
Sam & Janet Grammer
