Dear Friends in Christ,
The leaves are starting to show some color and the evenings are getting a bit chilly. Sounds like hunting season!
Our first fall hunt camp was held during the last days of Sept. for archery elk. There were 4 hunters that drove out from NY and met Sam in Colorado. One elk was taken with several more seen. Even had a bear visit the camp a couple of times! Sam already has a bear tag for the rifle hunt coming up in mid-October. Maybe some bear meat will be hanging in camp on the next hunt?
These hunts are more than just a time in the woods. They are also a time for Bible study and this year's focus is the book of Jude. Each man seemed to be challenged by the Word. Pray as they return to their daily routines, that they follow through on decisions made in camp.
We are still helping out at the First Baptist Church in Tuba City on the Navajo reservation. Our youth in the church is growing and classes are being divided because of size, creating a need for more Sunday School teachers. They are building an addition to the church building that includes 2 new classrooms, 2 restrooms with showers and a storage closet. The workers gather a couple evenings each week after work and then again on Saturdays.
We have 2 of our members struggling with cancer and another one needed surgery for a brain tumor. With 3 of our church families needing to frequently travel to Phoenix as their loved ones undergo surgeries and treatment, the work is a bit slow but is still progressing.
Thankfully, with the weather changing, most of the remaining tasks are inside.
Prayer Requests:
- Continued safety for our hunt camps scheduled for October and again in November
- For God to work in hearts during the hunt camp Bible studies
- For Tuba City
- their building project
- more SS teachers
- a full-time pastor
- Matt Adson-brain cancer
- Grandma Hyden-brain tumor
- Leo Jones-bladder cancer
- Sam Jr. in Afghanistan-due to be back home by end of October
Thank you for your prayers and your gifts.
In Christ,
Sam & Janet Grammer
