Sam & Janet Grammer ~ August 2008 Prayer Letter

Dear Friends in Christ,

We are finishing off the month of July and going into August by taking part in the annual Bible Conference of the Western Navajo Bible Fellowship. We not only enjoy the time in God's Word, but we see many old friends from around the Navajo Reservation and catch up on how God has been working in their lives. This year they are studying the book of Galatians during the morning services and the book of Jonah in the evening sessions. Sam is teaching the English classes in Jonah during the week long conference.

The following week-end , Sam will be one of the speakers at the annual Family Bible Conference in Tuba City. The theme for this year's 3-day conference will be "Unity in the Spirit".

A few days later, we'll be spending 3 days with the other missionaries under our board for a Mission Fellowship. This is another annual event where we give field reports, discuss Mission business, spend time together in the Word of God and just have fun and fellowship together.

Please pray with us for all these conferences. We enjoy each of them, but the preparation and keeping up with the schedules can be tiring. Pray also for hearts to be open to what God's Word has in each of our lives.

Also, during the month of August, Sam has been asked to continue to fill the pulpit in Tuba City at the First Baptist Church. We travel just over an hour each Sunday morning for services, spend the afternoon in their parsonage and then return home after the evening service.

Thank you for praying with us. We know some of you are bringing our requests before the Lord, as you ask how God is working and answering our prayers.

Janet's trip to see her Mom went well, though road closures made it
necessary to spend an unexpected night in a motel on her trip home. However, it was a reminder of God's protection as He provided the room and even another Believer to share it with and split the cost. Her Mom is still with us, but experiencing health problems. 8 of her 9 children were able to celebrate her 80th birthday with her. Few of us live in New York (we represent a total of 6 states) so it was a special event to be together.

Sam Jr. is still in Afghanistan. Pray for his safety and for boldness and opportunities to speak of Christ to his fellow Marines.

In Christ,

Sam & Janet Grammer
