Dear Friends in Christ,
During the month of June, Sam has had several opportunities to preach; twice on the Hulapai Reservation and twice right here in Flagstaff for a pastor that took the youth group on a trip to camp. Twice this past month, he has had to say no because he was scheduled to preach somewhere else. It appears that the entire month of July will also be filled as he preaches on the Navajo Reservation at Tuba City once again. For those who have been praying with us about pastors in some of the Indian churches, here's the latest up-date: San Carlos is to vote today on a possible pastor.
Peach Springs has a pastor coming down from a mission work in Canada that has become a closed door. The DeFords still need to sell their home in Canada and resettle in Arizona. Everyone is eager for this move, so pray with us for the sale of their home.
Tuba City is once again looking for a full-time pastor.
Janet's mother, Mary Truax, turns 80 on July 1 and her kids are trying to get together to celebrate at the nursing home in Houghton, NY. She has not been well recently and we're hoping she will have strength for the day and enjoy having all her children around her, as well as friends. If any of you know Mary and would like to join us, please give us a call and we'll give you more details. This is a SURPRISE, so please don't mention anything to her. At the time that this is being written, she is in the hospital with blood clots and a staph infection. We are hoping she will be out of the hospital for the celebration. The staph infection has her in isolation and a party will be a little difficult under those circumstances. She doesn't seem to be in pain, for which we are thankful. Please do be praying for her.
Speaking of phones, some of you have tried to call us for the first time (or for the first time in a long time) and have had trouble. Several years ago our area code was changed from 602 to 928 and not everyone made the change in their records. Please make note of the change as we enjoy hearing from you.
This summer, we are thrilled to see several of the next generations in our family being engaged in summer mission trips:
- Tabitha and Abigail Taylor (grand-daughters) are heading for S. Africa this month.
- Christine and Nathan Carmichael (daughter) are going to Ghana, W Africa for a few weeks so Nathan can teach a course in a Bible School.
- Levi and Leah Holton (grandson and grand-daughter) are trying to raise funds to go to Bolivia on a short term mission in early August.
- Amber Grammer (daughter-in-law) is spending the summer as a counselor at a Christian camp in Maryland while Sam jr. is in Afghanistan.
Please pray with us as they travel as serve our wonderful Lord
In Christ,
Sam & Janet Grammer
