Sam & Janet Grammer ~ January 2010 Prayer Letter

Dear Friends in Christ,

Last month’s letter was late due to our traveling. This month’s letter will be early-due to travel. Janet, our family secretary, is heading for North Carolina to be with the Carmichael family. Our daughters have been taking turns staying and helping them, but need to get back home to family and responsibilities. Now it’s Janet’s turn to help out. The goal is to help maintain a normal daily routine for the kids (12, 14 & 16) and to hold and pray with them during the evening hours when they may feel a bit overwhelmed with all that’s going on.

Nathan has been in ICU fighting with pneumonia for this past week. He is still on a ventilator but making slow progress. We’re thankful that the changes are improvements but the waiting is difficult. Once he conquers the pneumonia, he still needs surgery on the shoulder and then a long recovery period. Janet will try to stay as long as needed, but expects to return home once Nathan is out of the hospital.

Back in Arizona, Sam will continue to teach and preach and counsel over the phone and with visitors; though the winter months have fewer visitors due to the snow in the mts. We already have had a couple of blizzards come through, making driving challenging. Please pray for us while we are apart and for safety when he has to travel to the reservations.

This past month, we had a phone call with a request for prayer from Wolford Bilagody. Wolf and his wife Lillie attend the First Baptist Church of Tuba City. We have known them for several years and have seen their willingness to serve- whether as a last minute teacher or simply taking care of needs of the building. They have hearts of compassion toward others and we’ve seen them make changes in their lives to conform to God’s Word. Wolf said, “There are so many hurting people out there who need to know the Lord.” He plans to begin classes at the Indian Bible College here in Flagstaff. Please pray with us for them as this is a big step of faith on their part. Even though they are grandparents now, they still want to serve our Lord. What a blessing to us!

Prayer Requests:
1 - Nathan Carmichael-for full and complete healing and for his family as
2 - Janet’s travel and stay in NC
3 - Sam as he travels on the snowy mountain roads
4 - Wolf & Lillie-for finances for school and for their studies

We won’t be sending out many Christmas cards this year, due to the cost of postage and because of so much going on. However, we do wish you all a Merry Christmas and Blessed New Year. Keep shining your light where God has placed you in this dark world.

In Christ,

Sam & Janet Grammer
