Dave & Becky DeFord ~ August - September Update

Dear Prayer Partners

This update letter is being written from a Midwestern farm where splashes of color, ripened soybeans, cornfields, and cool mornings are a very present reminder that Autumn has arrived. We are staying here as we near the end of our two month trip that has included our IBIMI annual Mission Retreat in Keokuk, Iowa and  reporting to supporting churches in Colorado, Iowa and Indiana. The Retreat time was a very special blessing in many ways. Nine of our missionary families were able to be in attendance this year and everyone remarked at the hospitality of First Baptist Church in Wayland, MO., the encouraging messages of Dr. Dave Jaspers and the accomodations and meals of hosting individual families.

We have remarked to each other regularly on this trip that this has probably been the most relaxing and fulfilling trip we’ve had in recent years, and we are so grateful to those at every church and home that helped make it so enjoyable.

We leave the Midwest Wednesday morning (Sept. 30th) for home. Our plans are to be home approximately three weeks while we fill in at Gilson Wash Baptist for Pastor Barthel. We are looking forward to being home with our church family and especially elated to be able to minister “at home”

Upcoming in November will be a Missions Conference at Ambassador Baptist College the 2nd thru 6th we plan to attend.   Gilson Wash will be having a Missions Conference as well during the month.

Thank you to those whom we have met, both old and new friends, that have allowed the Lord to use them to be a tremendous blessing to us.

Prayer needs:

*  Safety in travel as we drive to N C to attend Ambassador Baptist College Mission Conference.
*  Young people to see the need of the Gospel message being presented among the American Indians.
*  The members of Gilson Wash to see the need of the Gospel message being presented worldwide.

In His love and ours, Dave and Becky
