Dear Prayer Partners, August update 2008
Thank you for your prayers this past month. July offered several opportunities to give out the Gospel one of which was a very good VBS. July 7 through 11 brought out many of the children and young people of the reservation. We averaged 70 children each night with the high on Wednesday of 84. Our teachers this year came from the Boston, MA area and were a great blessing. They were well prepared and diligent in their teaching. During the week the group painted the parsonage and another mobile home on the property that we are anticipating remodeling for visitors, took care of some plumbing needs and several small repair jobs. The group traveled with Dr. and Mrs. Jack Mitchell of Grace Dental Mission. Dr. Mitchell set up his portable dental office and took care of the dental needs of not only church members, but community members as well. He and Jennifer will be with us at our annual Mission Retreat in Alpine, AZ later this month to take care of the dental needs of our IBIMI missionaries. This ministry has been a tremendous blessing to us.
July saw the home going of Roy Daniels. He and his wife, Norma, have faithfully ministered with us during the winter months for approximately 20 years. Pray with us for comfort for his family. Roy was a faithful witness for the Lord.
Continue to pray for the young man that was saved in June. He has been faithful in church services until being hospitalized July 27 for a heart condition. He desires to grow spiritually, a direct answer to your faithful prayers for him. Please continue those prayers that he can be baptized as soon as his health permits.
We’ve asked you to pray for teen leaders for our church young people. We have seen that prayer answered as well with two of our own young adults volunteering for that ministry. They have been meeting for the last two weeks now and are planning to attend a youth conference in the Phoenix area in September.
Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer for the Indian ministries and for us personally.
