Dave and Becky DeFord ~ June 2008 Prayer Letter

Dear Prayer Partners,

Summer is upon us with increasing temperatures along with plans for VBS, camps, visiting work groups and summer missionaries. We praise the Lord for these extended opportunities to sow seed, water and anticipate the harvest.  Thank you in advance for your prayers concerning all these opportunities.

May 11th the church held their Mother/Daughter Fellowship time and then Sunday was a regular Mother’s Day  service. Although attendance could have been better for the fellowship, those that were able to come had a good time together.

We are grateful for safety the Lord gave as we traveled to Canada to take our granddaughter, Jackie, home after being with us since the first of the year. She was able to get her driver’s license, have four wisdom teeth pulled, and do an abundance of sewing quilting plus be a delight to have in our home. On the way to Canada we stopped in Idaho Falls to visit with Gene and Barb Absher for a little while. We are looking forward to having them come in the fall to do some more carpentry work on the church building. On our way home from Canada, we stopped in Cody, Wyoming to visit with long time friends, Bud and Connie Wells. The whole trip of almost 4000 miles was very
refreshing and recuperative for both of us.

June 8th Gilson Wash Baptist Church will be hosting Kevin Barthel, a candidate for pastor of the church. Please join us in prayer as we seek the timing and guidance of the Lord in choosing a pastor for the church.

Personal note concerning David’s health. He continues to progress with less pain in his feet due to the pads prescribed from the neurologist. His problems still exist concerning balance and standing alone.

We pray God continues to bless you as He has so richly blessed us with faithful prayer and financial partners in taking the Word to the Native American fields. With so much turmoil and unrest, dissention and ungodliness in the world today it would be easy to become discouraged in our daily walk and witness for the Lord. We need your faithful prayer for us, as we pray faithfully for you in your churches and personal ministries.

In His love and ours,
Dave and Becky
