Dear Supporting Church Families & Friends,

Hello from the Tohono O’Odham Nation!  Summer has arrived once again, along with some very warm temperatures. We are thankful for the very busy, exciting past two months the Lord has blessed us with!

We began May with a visiting missionary at the church in Ak-Chin.  It’s wonderful to have our people exposed to, and learn of, the need for worldwide missions!  We also had a visiting church group come and do some physical work around the church in Ak-Chin, including painting, building a storage shed and spreading gravel!  We are so thankful for their work, and know the Lord will reward them for it! Mother’s Day & Father’s Day services in Ak-Chin were a blessing, with 6 mothers and 2 fathers in attendance on those special days!

At the end of May, we held our first Summer Day Camp for two days.  Bro. Dale Vance and his family were out to help with the camp, and the Lord sent 66 people our way over the two days, including ages 2-82!  We are thankful for the two teenage boys and one young lady in her mid 30’s who accepted Christ as their Savior!  We were also able to meet many new people in the surrounding communities through this event, and have since had another lady come back and visit the church, accepting the Lord as her Savior on her 2nd visit!  Now she, along with her 3 children, are faithfully attending the church and growing!  We are certainly in the Lord’s fields to sow & water, and it is so exciting when He gives the increase!  Please pray for Melissa, Cynthia, Terrell & Kendrick!

Dad & I were blessed with the opportunity to return to a camp meeting at Pastor Tony Finney’s in Conestee, SC during May, and were surprised and overwhelmed with the kindness and love of so many of you who agreed together to purchase a custom-made, mobile mission church-trailer that we can pull behind the van into villages and places where we currently have no where to meet, and set up Bible clubs and studies, etc…. We believe this tool will be very valuable in the Lord’s work here, and are so thankful for all you do for us (and looking forward to receiving the completed trailer soon!)

Louann & I had the privilege to take 5 teenagers to Summer Camp with West Coast Baptist College in California!  There was such great preaching, activities, food and fun for the teens!  We are so thankful for how He worked in their lives.  Many of them made several decisions for the Lord that we pray will impact their lives for years to come.  Please continue praying for the teens here on the reservation!

Please pray for Mrs. Mabel.  She has been temporarily (we pray) placed in a nursing care facility to recover from a few health issues.  We pray she is better soon, and able to return home.  Pray for the Lord’s will for the CASA meetings as well, whether they be in her home when she returns, or possibly that another door will open as well.

We are very thankful for the children we get to work with in the Cockleburr Bible clubs.  Attendance at these meetings has been increasing over the past few visits.  It is exciting to see those who have been missing return to the classes!  The summer Bible club in the hot desert sun is one of the more difficult meetings we do, and we appreciate your prayers for those meetings (and anticipate the arrival of the new air-conditioned mobile mission!)

We have several additional visits from church groups, church projects, special services, etc… planned in the coming months, and cherish your prayers for the work here in AZ on the Tohono O’Odham Nation. God has blessed our family so much, in so many ways!  We appreciate your friendship, prayers and faithfulness to prayerfully support us and the work here!

Working together with you for HIM,

Brian & Louann, Latanya, Lilly, Rebecca, Brandon & Benjamin Shannon
