Dear Supporting Church Families & Friends,
Hello from the cooling desert of Southern AZ! We are enjoying the cooler temperatures, and are very thankful for this relief! We are thankful for the rain we received during our monsoon season as well, though one church service in Ak-Chin had to be canceled due to flooding (this usually happens a couple of times each year during the heavy monsoon rains).
What a busy September and October we were blessed with. These opportunities, for which we are very thankful, included a relaxing vacation with our entire family, and several extended members of our family. I am thankful for a family who loves and desires to serve the Lord!
We were also blessed with the tremendous opportunity of returning to our home church in Monroe, NC, to preach in the church and Christian school there for one week. What an exciting week! It was a joy to get to see family and friends there in NC, and to preach and share what God has been doing here in AZ!
Our teens were privileged to attend another West Branch Bill Rice Ranch Arizona Youth Conference, with great preaching from Bro. Josh Irmler of CA. The teens participated in another contest put on by West Branch in which they read their Bibles, handed out tracts, memorized verses, invited visitors, and faithfully attended the Lord’s house! We are thankful for this opportunity to encourage them to continue in the things they’ve been taught! Please pray for the teens!
The Bible clubs are getting back into full swing now that Summer has ended and school is back in session. The kids are returning, and it is exciting to see familiar faces and meet new ones. It is also sad to see some of the older ones no longer coming. Please pray for these children and Bible clubs in the villages.
We are preparing now for the Christmas season with these children, and for the Christmas Nursing Home service as well. Last year we were blessed to be able to give every person in the Tribe’s nursing home a special Christmas gift, and are praying to be able to do something like that this year as well. Please pray for the nursing home services there on the reservation.
We were blessed to have the Ronnie Starr family, veteran missionaries to Alaska, visit with us during part of the month of October, and preach for us while we were away! The people here really enjoy them, and it’s a blessing to have trustworthy and faithful friends to fill in while we are away!
Our family is continually blessed! Everyone is doing fine. Homeschool is back in full swing. Latanya recently received her acceptance letter from West Coast Baptist College! Please pray for her as she completes her senior year of school this year and prepares for college next year! Lilly is in the 8th grade, Rebecca is in 1st grade and Brandon has started some K4 pre-school work. Benjamin “attends” a few of everyone’s classes as he roams the house during the school hours!
