Dear Prayer Partners,                                                                                       Jan- Feb 2010 update

In the two months of 2010 we have already had much activity in ministry as well as personally. We are grateful for your prayers for us in both these areas.

In January it was good to have the ministry team from International Baptist College at Gilson Wash Baptist. They presented a great program and were a blessing to the church folks. February brought us Dr. Glen and Mary Jaspers for the annual Valentine Banquet and then again for services on the 15th. They are such an encouragement to all the IBIMI sister churches and we count it a real blessing to be with them.

Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all our heart; for consider how great things He hath done for you. I Samuel 12:24

Dear Praying Friends and family,

Our Lord is worthy of all praise and glory! We share our gratitude with you who have faithfully prayed and given to see this work continue. We began January with a watch-night service at church New Year's Eve. We had a great service with many in attendance and fun fellowship. Our theme for this year is "Revive Us Again in 2010". We have made genuine revival a matter of earnest prayer for several months.

February 2010
Dear Friends in Christ,

On November 30, our son-in-law, Nathan Carmichael was injured on the job when a tree they were bringing down hit him. We left 2 days later with the Drs.’ opinion that though the injuries were quite serious, it was nothing he wouldn’t recover from. However, it wasn’t long after that, he developed pneumonia and spent 3 weeks on a ventilator fighting for his life. Janet returned to North Carolina for 4 weeks to help Chris be free to be at his side as much as needed.

Dear Prayer Partners, Dec. 2009 update

We want to thank each of you who have called, sent cards, given gifts and upheld us up in prayer this past month. We are truly grateful to you for your kindnesses and thoughtfulness on our behalf.

Beginning the first of December David started teaching Genesis in the adult Sunday School class. There is so much to glean from the foundation set forth in the first chapters, so he is teaching slowly through the book.

Dear Supporting Church Families & Friends,

Happy New Year from southern Arizona, and Tohono O’Odham Nation! “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” (Ps 90:12). May we each use this new year to do even more for Him Who has done so much for us!

What an exciting November & December the Lord has helped us through! First I’d like to mention Louann and the new baby she is carrying. They are doing well, but Louann has had quite a few problems with this one. Please continue to hold both of them up in your prayers over the next few weeks. The due date is the first week of March, and she has already experienced some pre-term contractions and other problems. We know our God is in control, and are resting and trusting in Him during this time!

Happy New Year to all our friends and family,

We are grateful to our Lord for you and your faithful support through prayer and giving over the past year! As usual, December was a very busy month. Steve celebrated his 44th birthday. We were reminded once again of how privileged we are to be servants of the Lord for another year.

Dear Praying Family and Friends,

“Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame” (I Corinthians 15:34)

How responsible are we for the ignorance of people “Who worship the works of their own hands” (Isaiah 2:8)?

Have you ever wondered how the unsaved world views Christians caught up in the materialism of Christmas? Do they view us as hypocrites? Or are they completely unaware “That God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself” (II Corinthians 5:19a)?

Dear Friends in Christ,

Last month’s letter was late due to our traveling. This month’s letter will be early-due to travel. Janet, our family secretary, is heading for North Carolina to be with the Carmichael family. Our daughters have been taking turns staying and helping them, but need to get back home to family and responsibilities. Now it’s Janet’s turn to help out. The goal is to help maintain a normal daily routine for the kids (12, 14 & 16) and to hold and pray with them during the evening hours when they may feel a bit overwhelmed with all that’s going on.

Dear Praying Friends,

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. Psalms 90:2

What a great comfort to know that in uncertain times

God is still on the throne!

Ministry: Thank-you for your prayers regarding the special services with Evangelist Barry Webb in October. The Lord blessed each night of the meetings. We pray that the decisions made will have lasting results. It was a great time of spiritual refreshment for all of us.
